Who doesn’t love doing a full face of makeup to feel all pampered – Whether you leave the house or not! I have been building a lovely makeup collection over the last few months after a massive makeup cull. Rather than having lots of options for the same thing, I am trying to create a capsule makeup collection.
My biggest struggle is with lipsticks, which I hoard like a crazy person, I’ve lost count of how many reds I owned before I started clearing my makeup out.
I don’t wear a huge amount of eyeshadow – usually keeping it for special occasions. However, I always wear mascara and add some product to my brows, I feel like a ghost otherwise
My current favourite eye products are all from Avon (You can order them here on my site). For my eyebrows, I use a mixture of the Perfect Brow Creme Gel by mark. in light brown (here) and the Perfect Brow Sculpting Pencil by mark. in soft brown (similar). The crème gel works so well, as it doubles as a brow setter – getting your brows in the perfect place. The sculpting pencil is perfect as it has the slant that allows you to easily follow the natural curve of your brow.
For mascara I swap between the two pictured depending on the look I am wanting. For day-to-day, I use the SuperExtend Extreme Length Mascara by Avon True Colour in black (here). If I want to add a bit of ommph to my eyelashes I use Big & False Lash Volume Mascara by mark. in black (here). I love how my eyes look in the big and false lash mascara, it really opens up my eyes.
Oh my, Highlighters are something new to my makeup arsenal, but I am in love! For a day-to-day glow, I use the Rainbow Highlighter by Revolution (here). You can swipe on and leave with the colours slightly separated or swirl them in with a good stippling brush. For a more glittery look, I will then add a couple of drops from the Liquid Highlighter by Revolution in the shade unicorn elixir (here). It is very simple to use with the built-in pipette and comes in many shades to match everyone/whichever mood you are in.
To complete the look I will often use this gorgeous Christmas present I received – The Sparkler by The Body Shop in pink glimmer (similar). It comes in a beautiful vintage style bottle and adds a fine glitter mist over your face. I feel like a complete unicorn when wearing it ❤
I own way too many lipsticks, even after clearing them out, I have somehow ended up with loads more! At least I have branched out and have tried some new shades outside of just red.
What are your current favourites? Are there particular brands to stick to?
